The Connections Overview¶
The Connection view has three tabs each with specific connections. Clicking one of the tab's will navigate to the its specific page.
- Network Green-GO devices connected via ethernet
- USB Green-GO devices connected via USB
- Applications Green-GO applications connected via network
Network view¶
The Network view gives an overview of devices connected to the Green-GO network and displays information about these devices as well as their current connection status.
Config Members¶
For devices to be connected to the Green-GO Control software, they need to be a member of the same config. To make a device a member of a config, it can either be adopted to the current config loaded in Green-GO Control or join the config that is loaded on a device on the network.
Adopt Devices¶
to adopt one or multiple Not adopted
device(s) to the current config file:
- Tick their corresponding checkboxes
- Click the button
- Click on the popup to adopt the selected devices
- The device status will then change to
connected
Attention
- Adopting a device will stop a device from being able to communicate in its current config
- Adopting a device will result in the current config of a device being overwritten
- All devices and the Green-GO control software need to be member of the same config to be able to communicate
Join a Config¶
To join a config that is currently on one or multiple device(s) on the Green-GO network;
- Select one of the devices that has the required config
- Click the button
- Click on the popup to join the config on the selected device
- The status of all devices with the same config will change to
connected
Attention
- Joining the config of a device will load that config into the Green-GO Control software
- The current config will be overwritten - make sure previous changes have been saved
- All devices and the Green-GO Control software need to be in the same config to be able to communicate
Edit a Device¶
Device specific settings can be changed by selecting the device and clicking the Edit button or double-clicking the device. Doing this prompts a popup window with multiple tabs where properties of the device can be altered.
The name of a device changed by regardless of the selected tab.
Naming Devices
It is advised to name your devices unique and logical for easy identification.
IP settings¶
The network settings can be changed by selecting the IP settings tab.
The default Green-GO IP setting is Dynamic. If a DHCP server is present on the network, it will assign an IP address to the devices. If no DHCP server is present, the devices will get a link local self assigned IP address in the 169.254.xxx.xxx
range with a subnet of 255.255.0.0
. Static addressing is also possible. Make sure all devices and computers are in the same subnet with the same subnet mask and have unique IP addresses.
Cloud¶
The Cloud tab allows to point the device to the Cloud service to setup remote bridged connections with the Cloud connection method
The available options are:
- Default DNS The device will use the default domain names to resolve the cloud services IP addresses
- Custom DNS The device will use a user definable domain names to resolve the cloud services IP addresses
- IP Address The device will use the set IP addresses to connect to the cloud services.
The resolved addresses will be displayed when available
Connection¶
The connection tab allows to setup a device for a remote bridged connection. For a local setup within a local network this needs to be set to Local
The available option are:
- Local The default connection mode, devices are able to communicate within a local network
- Direct IP Used to connect to a bridge on a remote Green-GO system via the IP Connection Method
- Search IP Used to connect to a bridge on a local routed Green-GO system via the seach IP Connection Method
- Cloud ID Used to connect to a bridge on a remote Green-GO system via the Cloud Connection Method
Multi port devices will have a connection tab for each of their ports, named Port 1, Port 2 ect. Allowing to setup remote connections for each port individually
Remove Offline Network Items¶
Clicking the
button will remove all devices that do not have a current online status. devices which are currently offline and are connected again later on with the same config will be added again and are still member of the config.Update Network Items¶

button will give a dropdown with the following options:Scan¶
The Scan action will first remove offline devices, followed by an additional network discovery to detect devices that are unreachable in boot mode or running V4 firmware. Boot mode and V4 devices can be updated with a firmawre update. for unreachable devices the IP settings need to be checked
Firmware update¶
The firmware update option will open the firmware update wizard for the firmware update process.
Default config¶
The Default config will store the current loaded config file as default config which can be loaded from the devices Config menu. For example to store as Company default starting point to be able to always load this as Quickstart without the need of the software.
Encrypt¶
The Encrypt option will open the encryption wizard to encrypt the communication within a Green-GO system. NOTE all devices in the system need to be encrypted with the same key.
Device Status¶
All devices on the Green-GO network are assigned a status, indicated both in text and color. Below is a rundown of the statuses used.

USB view¶
The USB view gives an overview of all USB devices connected to one of the instances of Green-GO control running the same config and displays information about these devices as well as their current connection status.
