Encrypt and protect a Green-GO system

Secure all Green‑GO communications with symmetric AES‑256 audio encryption to prevent unauthorized listening.

A Green‑GO system supports device‑level encryption to protect audio communication and configuration data on the network. Encryption is enabled per device and managed via the Connections menu using the Encryption Assistant.

Once encryption is enabled, only authorized and encrypted devices can communicate within the system. Devices that do not have the correct encryption key will be unable to decrypt audio coming from an encrypted source.

Notice:

This additional layer of encryption applies only to network-based components. It does not apply to DECT, as DECT uses its own built‑in encryption. However, DECT antennas must still receive and use the same system encryption key as other devices to properly decrypt audio on the network side.

Before you begin

  • Ensure all devices are online and visible in Connections.
  • Encryption should be planned before deployment, as encrypting a device will temporarily interrupt its connection.

Enabling Encryption on a Device

Each device must first allow encryption to be enabled locally.

  1. On the device, navigate to Encryption.
  2. Select Enable Change. The status will change to Change Enabled, indicating the device is ready to receive an encryption key.
  3. Leave this menu open.

The device is now ready to be encrypted remotely. After enabling encryption on the device, complete the process from Green-GO Control.

Encrypting the Device via Green-GO Control

  1. Navigate to Connection > Network.
  2. Select the device(s) you want to encrypt.
  3. Go to UPDATE ᐯ.
  4. Select Encrypt.
  5. Follow the on-screen Encryption Assistant to complete the process.

When the assistant has finished, the device(s) will restart and re-join the system in encrypted mode.

Remove Encryption

Removing the encryption can only be done on the device itself.

  1. On the device, navigate to Encryption.
  2. Select Enable Change. The status will change to Change Enabled, and will make the remove option available.
  3. Scroll down to Remove and enter to confirm.

Notes

  • Repeat this process for every device that needs to be encrypted.
  • All devices within the same system must use the same encryption key.
  • Devices that are not encrypted cannot communicate with encrypted devices.
